Mr. Eri Hiswara is currently working as senior researcher at the Indonesian National Nuclear Energy Agency (BATAN) in the field of radiation protection and safety. Beside working for BATAN, Mr. Hiswara has also been a lecturer in the field of radiation protection and safety at various universities in Indonesia.
Mr. Hiswara obtained a BSc degree in physics from the University of Indonesia in 1982, and an MSc degree in Radiation and Environmental Protection at the University of Surrey, United Kingdom, in 1990.
Mr. Hiswara was the Scientific Attaché of the Permanent Mission of Indonesia to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Vienna from 2003 to 2007. His main task was to build a harmonized collaboration between the IAEA and Indonesia, especially in the field of technical cooperation. He also supported the bilateral cooperation in technical fields between Indonesia and Austria.
Mr. Hiswara has been the representative of Indonesia to UNSCEAR since its 61st session (2014).
