Dr. Isam Salih Mohamed Musa
Dr. Isam Salih Mohamed Musa is the Director of the Radiation Safety Institute of the Sudan Atomic Energy Commission (SAEC) since 2009. He is also Associate Professor and main coordinator of the MSc programme of Radiation and Environmental Protection at the Sudan Academy of Science.
Dr. Salih holds a BSc degree and MSc degree in physics. He received a PhD in radiation physics from Linköping University in 2003 where he worked as postdoc for the Department of Radiation Physics until 2005. His main duties comprised establishing a radiometric laboratory and performing radiochemistry for environmental samples and chemical separations of some isotopes.
From 2005 to 2008, Dr. Salih was the Head of the Food and Environmental Monitoring Department at the Radiation Safety Institute of the SAEC in Khartoum where he had worked before (1988 and 1996) as researcher in the fields of environmental radioactivity, radiation protection of workers and radionuclides monitoring in food.
Dr. Salih has been the representative of Sudan to UNSCEAR at its fifty-ninth session (2012).
