UNSCEAR reports to the 4th Committee of the UN General Assembly. |

UNEP |
United Nations Environment Programme - (UNEP) was established by the Stockholm Conference of 1972 as the environmental conscience of the United Nations system. Shortly thereafter, the UNSCEAR Secretariat was funtionally linked with UNEP. Based in Nairobi, Kenya, UNEP's mission is to provide leadership and encourage partnership in caring for the environment by inspiring, informing, and enabling nations and peoples to improve their quality of life without compromising that of future generations. UNEP has responsibility within the United Nations system for addressing several crucial issues: the ozone layer; sustainable development; climate change; biodiversity; and international environmental law. |

International Atomic Energy Agency - The IAEA is the world's centre of cooperation in the nuclear field. It was set up as the world's "Atoms for Peace" organization in 1957 within the United Nations family. The Agency works with its Member States and multiple partners worldwide to promote safe, secure and peaceful nuclear technologies. |

International Labour Organization - Founded in 1919, the International Labour Organization is the UN specialized agency which seeks the promotion of social justice and internationally recognized human and labour rights. It has an interest in the radiation protection of workers. |
