Dr. Reiko Kanda
Dr. Reiko Kanda is Deputy Director General of Center for Advanced Radiation Emergency Medicine, National Institutes for Quantum and Radiological Science and Technology (QST), Japan, since 2019. Her research interest and areas of expertise are radiation-induced chromosome aberrations, health effects of radiation and dose estimation.
Dr. Kanda holds a PhD and graduated in Zoology from the University of Tokyo.
Dr. Kanda is a member of the Radiation Council of Japan (2014-present) and since 2020, the secretary of Section II (life sciences) of the Science Council of Japan.
Dr. Kanda has been a member of Japanese delegation to UNSCEAR since the 64 th session (2017) and is the Alternate representative since 2019.
