Ahead of the forthcoming UNSCEAR outreach mission to Japan (19-22 July 2022), the secretariat of the Scientific Committee expresses sincere sadness of the tragic event and passing of the former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe today. Japan is a founding member of the Committee since 1955 and sincere condolences go to the Japanese delegation to the 69th UNSCEAR session, colleagues and Japanese people in this difficult moment.
